The article, Above and Beyonce takes us through a 2013 Vanity Fair interview with Beyonce Knowles. While the interview does not go into details about the drama and rumors the tabloids are exploiting, it instead gives more of an inside perspective about what is going on in Beyonce’s life. The context of where the interview takes place is a key role in this. While downstairs, there are a “convo of S.U.V.’s line up to take her to a West Side recording studio where she’ll work on the songs for her second solo album,” Beyonce and the interviewer are away from the cameras and in her assistant’s apartment. This interview goes into details that help readers to understand and view Beyonce not as a superstar, but a regular person. While she lives a luxurious life, the interviewer does a good job of showing her humbleness and how much of a human she is. She describes Beyonce lounging on the couch, eating slices of brownie, and having an almost-normal childhood.
